FAQ

  • What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a full-body workout done on a specialized machine called the reformer. Using springs, pulleys, and a moving carriage, the reformer provides resistance and support to help you strengthen, stretch, and tone your body. It’s known for improving core stability, posture, flexibility, and overall strength while being low-impact on the joints.

  • What’s the difference between Mat Pilates and Reformer Pilates?

Both styles share the same foundation and focus on controlled movements, core strength, and alignment. The difference is in the equipment:

Mat Pilates uses just a mat (sometimes with small props) and relies mostly on body weight for resistance.

Reformer Pilates uses the reformer machine, which adds resistance and support through springs and straps. This makes it easier to customize workouts, progress safely, and target specific muscle groups. Many people find the reformer helps them learn proper form and feel results faster.

  • Do I need Pilates experience to join?

Not at all! Our classes welcome all levels. The All-Levels classes are a great place to start if you’re new. Once you begin to feel comfortable and confident on the reformer, the Progressive Elevated classes are the perfect next step to challenge yourself. And when you’re really feeling strong and ready, you can try out our Elevated classes for an even bigger push. Our instructors provide modifications and progressions so you’ll always feel supported at every stage.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

We get it—life happens! You may cancel up to 24 hours before class with no penalty. Cancellations made less than 24 hours will not be reimbursed. No-shows will be charged the full class fee for the All You Can Play pass. Special circumstances will always be considered—just reach out to us directly.

  • Do I need grip socks to take class?

Yes, grip socks are required for all reformer classes. They help with safety, hygiene, and stability during your workout. Don’t have a pair? We’ve got some available for purchase at the studio (while supplies last).

  • What should I wear?

Think comfortable, form-fitting activewear that allows you to move freely. Avoid anything too loose so it doesn’t get caught in the reformer springs or straps. And don’t forget your grip socks!

  • How do I book a class?

All classes can be booked online through our website on our ‘book class’ section. You’ll be able to see the full schedule, purchase class packs, and reserve your spot instantly. Create an account to access upcoming and past classes easily.

  • Do you offer private sessions?

Yes! Private and semi-private sessions are available if you’d like one-on-one attention or a customized workout plan. Contact us to book your session.

  • How early should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 10 minutes early, especially if it’s your first class. This gives you time to check in, get oriented, and set up your reformer.

  • What if I have an injury or special concern?

Please let your instructor know before class. Our instructors are trained to offer modifications so you can move safely and confidently.

  • What are the top five reasons Pilates is a great choice for exercise?

Full-body workout – Every session engages multiple muscle groups, building strength and balance throughout your whole body.

Core strength & stability – Pilates is famous for strengthening your core, which supports better posture and reduces back pain.

Low-impact but effective – It’s gentle on the joints while still delivering powerful results, making it suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Improves flexibility & mobility – Controlled movements and stretches increase your range of motion, helping you move with ease.

Mind-body connection – Pilates emphasizes focus, breath, and control, leaving you feeling both stronger and calmer after each class.
