A Super fun filled snowy day.

This morning began with an email that me so happy.

**“Just popping in to say I’m loving the Healthy Habits Challenge.
I didn’t realize how chaotic my ‘non-habits’ were until I took your advice and started to stack my habits. My mornings are feeling a lot less  like I’m a walking tornado.

Honestly, I’m  feeling better about my time management. A tiny bit more organized.

I can’t wait to see what you’ve got for us next week. If week one and two helped me get my act together even a little, I’m hopeful for the weeks following*

I felt so good when I read that. It is what I meant it to be, simple, doable steps that help you feel even a little bit better than yesterday.

And then, as if the universe wanted to underline the theme of appreciation, the rest of the day unfolded in the loveliest way.

We woke up to a spectacular snowstorm, not one of those lovely dustings of snow that softens every rooftop and hushes the world…this was swirling, windy snow with the drifts getting bigger by the hour.

I thought for sure I was going to have a lazy A$$ morning sitting beside the fire watching a chick flick with Tnak by my side. Surely nobody would be coming to class today right? WRONG!!!. A few strong, spirited women, bundled up and made their way to Pilates on Plains. No amount of snow was going to slow them down. Their dedication set the tone for the whole day.

After class, life shifted from mindful movement to pure play. I headed to the hill for some tobogganing, with my son Andrew, his girlfriend Shelley, and her two girls, affectionately nicknamed Harvard and Beans. Tank came too, charging around as usual living up to his title, the Director of Happiness

Steve, having had surgery last week, couldn’t toboggan, but he stood at the top of the hill watching, laughing, and soaking up the fun.

Once we’d all transformed into walking snowmen, we headed back to my house for hot chocolate, Oreo ice cream, and Oreos on the side for that extra little sugar rush.

It was Harvard’s 12th birthday last week, and the smile she gave me when she opened her little gift warmed my heart. The girls sat on the couch beside me and shared some of their baby photos and videos with me…lots of giggles.

Just as they were heading out, Amazon arrived with Tank’s new winter boots. If you saw him testing them out in our POP stories, then you already know it was pure comedy. He looked like Bambi learning to walk. If you missed his boot-walking escapades, you can catch him on his own IG page: @tank_about_town.

Later, I made Steve’s favourite comfort meal, mashed potatoes, grilled chicken, gravy, peas, carrots.  Soul food. And after we ate, the three of us took our regular evening walk, Tank clacking along in his new boots.

Now I’m curled up, tired in the most beautiful way, thinking about how full the day felt. How lucky I am. How these ordinary moments pile up into the sweetest kind of life.

I hope you had even one moment today that made you exhale and smile. One moment that filled your own cup just a little.

Here’s to noticing the good, even on snowy days, especially on snowy days. ❄️
