Don’t Take My Word For It.

Do not take my word for it. Hear it from our POP members.

At Pilates on Plains, we talk often about mindful movement, strength from within, and slowing down long enough to reconnect with yourself. But sometimes the most powerful way to understand what Pilates can do is to hear it directly from the people experiencing it.

Every person who walks through our doors brings their own story. For some, it is about recovery. For others, it is about rebuilding strength, confidence, or a sense of self. The reformer might look like a sleek piece of equipment, but to many of our members it has become a symbol of healing, empowerment, and possibility.

Here is what a few of our incredible POP members have shared about their journeys.

Becca — Managing scoliosis with strength

“I joined Pilates on Plains because it is conveniently located in Aldershot, and the owner took the time to get to know my goals and limitations. I wanted to improve my strength and overall muscle tone, and the cozy, candle lit flows are totally my jam.”

“After just three classes, I am feeling that good sore in all the right places and can already tell my muscles are getting stronger.”

“If you have scoliosis, do not let it stop you. Both Pilates and yoga are wonderful for managing it. The reformer does not bother my back at all, and every exercise can be adjusted to fit your body’s unique needs.”

Dan — Adding Pilates to a full fitness routine

“I came to support a friend and try something new. I have only done Pilates twice so far, but it is an excellent overall body workout.”

“I plan to keep coming once a week while I am in the country. I really enjoy the one on one training, and the instructor is very encouraging.”

“I actually like it better than yoga… but do not tell my yoga girl that I said so!”

Kayla — Rebuilding strength after knee rehab

“My main goal was to see if I could actually do Pilates in the first place after my knee surgery, to build confidence again and get a different professional opinion on how my recovery was going. I wanted to test my limits in a safe space and see where my strength and mobility were at.”

“It has been so much more than I expected. After my first class, I felt refreshed and genuinely grateful to have found such a positive atmosphere to start my Pilates journey. It has helped me rebuild strength, balance, and confidence that I had lost over the past couple of years because of my injury. I cannot wait to continue.”

“I would tell anyone recovering from an injury to take it slow. Recovery is not a race. Do what makes you feel good but also challenges you a little. The best feeling is finally starting to feel like yourself again, and that is what keeps me going every time.”

Marnie — Finding time for herself again

“I was in need of a fresh start. It was time to start prioritizing myself, to become stronger for the long run. Work always seemed to come first, and I knew I needed to create a new routine where my health came first.”

“I am still early in my Pilates journey and working on consistency, but every time I am here, I feel one step closer to where I want to be. The instructors are wonderful at modifying classes for beginners, and I already feel myself becoming a stronger version of me.”

“I would tell any woman who has been putting herself last: do not wait one more minute. Sign up for a class, just once, try putting yourself first. I have made every excuse not to go and still struggle with that sometimes, but every time I book a class it feels like a small commitment to me. There is no judgment here at Pilates on Plains. It is such a welcoming, boutique style environment.”
